Next, stop at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, to learn about the cowboys and cowgirls who have shown excellence in competition, business and support of western lifestyle. End your day with a traditional Fort Worth "Longhorn Cattle Drive," through the Stockyard Historic District, before a meet and greet with the cowboys and drivers. Learn all about a moment in history at the 6th Floor Museum, the somber location from which Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Learn all about LBJ and Lady Bird at their beloved ranch as you explore the Texas White House. Journey to the beautifully preserved German village of Fredericksburg. Take a leisurely stroll in the historic district, surrounded by turn-of-the-century architecture, history, heritage, and culture. Then take a short drive to Bandera, the "Cowboy Capital of the World," for a ranch experience. Learn how to dance the Cotton-Eyed Joe and the Texas Two-Step. Continue further into the south Texas plains arriving in San Antonio, a city rich in history and culture, originally settled by the Spanish who built a mission here-The Alamo. On arrival, enjoy a guided tour with a Local Specialist and explore San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The missions were first established in the 17th century, with the aspiration to spread Christianity to the local indigenous peoples. Visit Mission Conception before stopping at El Mercado, a traditional and vibrant market, where you have a chance to sample typical treats. This evening, walk along the famous San Antonio River Walk, a delightful network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River. After breakfast, visit The Alamo, site of the famous, pivotal battle in the Texas Revolution. It was here, in 1836, that the Mexican army besieged a seriously outnumbered group of settlers, including Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, for nearly two weeks before they were overrun. Next, view the San Fernando Cathedral, seat of the Archbishop and one of the oldest cathedrals in the United States, and explore King William Historic District to see more of San Antonio's magnificent architecture.
