Number of Days : 1
Ola foodies, and welcome to the tastiest 9 days of your entire life (a big promise but we're claiming it). So how best to kick off this taste adventure with your like minded food fans? With a delicious tapas feast, obviously.
Day : 2
Barcelona
Number of Days : 1
Fuel up on breakfast treats this morning as we've got a busy day of Barcelona grazing ahead. First up, it's onto 2 wheels to explore the city by bike, taking in sights like the ever gorgeous Gothic quarter. The rest of the day is then yours to explore at your leisure, and we're guessing market wandering and paella tasting are probably pretty high on the agenda. Day time treats fully digested, this evening we've got a full flavoured Spanish cookery class to tempt you with.
Day : 3
Barcelona to Aix-en-Provence
Number of Days : 1
Adios España, we've got our eyes firmly on the French horizon. If it's good enough for Van Gogh, it's good enough for us. Roman treasures, shady squares and adorable cafes epitomise Arles, so it's no surprise Van Gogh was inspired by this gorgeous little town. Our walking tour will see us following in the footsteps of the one-eared wonder, culminating in a coffee stop at Cafe Van Gogh, cleverly designed to mimmick his immortal Cafe de Terrace. Arriving into Aix (pronounced 'X') late afternoon you'll have free time to explore this chic and stylish town, soon realising just how easy it is to acclimatise to the Provence way of life. Dinner tonight promises to be a special one - we're treating you to a traditional bouillabaisse, a Provençal speciality.
Day : 4
Aix-en-Provence to Nice
Number of Days : 1
Leaving Aix behind, it's onto Nice for our next adventure…Pulling up in the riviera favourite, our first port of call is the old town where we'll let loose in the pretty Marche aux Fleurs, one of France's most reputable markets that, depending on the day, could sell anything from flowers, to antiques, to food. We'll follow our noses to the myriad of foodie shops dotted across the old town, going wild stocking up on cheese, oils, meats and puddings, or for those who prefer the more sedate pace, sitting on the sidelines with a glass of red in hand will do nicely. Later, we'll hit the road for the iconic Corniche drive, stopping off at picture perfect Eze Village before our optional dinner.
Day : 5
Nice to Florence
Number of Days : 1
France, it's been tasty, but we've still got room in our bellies for Italy... We hope you're hungry, because our lunch time stop will see us rolling our way into Genoa, the birthplace of pesto and our first taste of Italy. And what goes well with pesto? You guessed it - pasta. Arriving into beautiful Florence late afternoon, your evening is then free to explore this captivating city as you please. Our advice? Get straight onto the local track with a tasty Tuscan dinner of panzanella or ribolita. And for afters, it has to be Vivoli Gelato - said to be the oldest ice cream shop in Florence.
Day : 6
Florence
Number of Days : 1
Waking up and smelling the coffee gets a whole new meaning this morning as we learn how to make the best cup of coffee. Fully awake (thanks Italian espresso), we'll then make our way out to the Tuscan hills with the pretty medieval town of San Gimignano in our sights. Famed for its 14 imposing towers and pistachio gelato, you'll have free time to explore the first and taste the second. From San Gimignano, we'll continue our way on to a local Tuscan villa, where we've got another extra special cooking lesson lined up for you, this time learning the art of pasta making...and of course, dinner will be the results!
Day : 7
Florence to Bologna
Number of Days : 1
Another free morning and yet more Florentine adventures to be had. Spend your free time wandering the smooth cobbled streets that the likes of Leonardo Da Vinci previously graced, or opt for our olive oil and wine tasting experience, tasting grapes like chianti and brunello that make this region so prolific with wine aficionados worldwide. Having departed Florence at lunch time, we'll pull the brakes in Bologna mid afternoon, just in time for a walking tour that includes a visit to the local food markets. Parmigano reggiano, mortadella and various salumi are all regionally specialities here so make sure you ask for plenty of tasters, and leave room in your luggage to take treats home. Dinner tonight is another one on us, with a typical regional tortellini al rugu on the menu.
Day : 8
Bologna to Milan
Number of Days : 1
Lake Como, you're in our sights. Nestled in the foothills of the Alps, Lake Como's dramatic scenery never fails to amaze. We'll jump straight on a boat cruise to experience Como the very best way, with free time to check out and explore the popular town of Bellagio. Hopping back on the coach at lunchtime, it's then straight on to Milan. After checking in to our hotel, the afternoon is then yours to get to know Milan. Visit La Galleria, La Scala or Il Duomo, do some shopping, or just sip aperol and people watch from one of the many bustling plazas. Tonight is our last as a group, and we've got a tasty regional risotto dinner lined up to see us out in true foodie style.
